Two names, one scale: sargam and solfa

The same five notes sung in sargam, then in solfa. Sa is do, Pa is so. Singers who know one system learn the other in a few minutes, and Indian and Western students can sing together.

How to do it

  1. Up in sargam, up in solfa.
  2. Down in sargam, down in solfa.
  3. Notice the names change; the notes do not.

Remember Sa is do.
