Merukhand: S R G in every order
Merukhand takes a few swaras and sings them in every possible order. Three swaras give six orders. It is the practice behind the intricate patterns of khayal singers such as Ustad Amir Khan.
How to do it
- Learn the six orders slowly: S R G, S G R, R S G, R G S, G S R, G R S.
- Every swara exact, even when it leaps.
- Then sing it on "aa".
Remember Same three swaras, six shapes.
